A watch-only address is a public address that you can view in Phantom without importing the wallet's credentials or controlling its assets. This can be useful for following a friend's wallet, a trader's public address, or a wallet you're watching for payments.

You can view activity and assets for a watch-only address, but you can't sign any transactions with it.

Watch-only address appear in your Phantom wallet with an eye symbol and a "You’re watching this account" banner.

Add a watch-only address #

Mobile app #

1. Open the Phantom mobile app.
2. Tap your profile avatar in the upper left.
3. Go to Settings > Manage Accounts.
4. Tap the + button in the upper right.
5. Tap Watch Address.
6. Choose the network.
7. Enter a name and paste the wallet's public address.
8. Tap Import.

Browser extension #

1. Click the Phantom browser extension icon.
2. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
3. Click Add Account (the plus icon).
4. Click Watch Address.
5. Choose the network.
6. Enter a name and paste the wallet's public address.
7. Click Import.

Remove a watch-only address #

Mobile app #

1. On the Home tab, tap your account name above your balance.
2. Tap the three-dot icon next to the watch-only address.
3. Tap Remove Account.

Browser extension #

1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Click Manage Accounts (the pencil icon).
3. Click the watch-only address.
4. Click Remove Account.

If the watch-only address is the only account in your wallet, the Remove Account option is not available.
