Sign-in methods are the credentials you can use to access your Phantom profile. You can have more than one, such as a Google or Apple account, recovery phrase, or private key.

Your Phantom profile includes features and information that belong to your profile rather than an individual wallet account, such as Cash, predictions, recurring buys, your Phantom username, profile settings, and any KMS-created wallet accounts tied to your profile. Any enabled sign-in method can access the same Phantom profile and KMS accounts.

How sign-in methods work #

Depending on your account setup, your sign-in methods may include:

• Google or Apple: Your Google or Apple account is a sign-in method.
• Recovery phrase: An enabled recovery phrase can be used as a sign-in method.
• Private key: An enabled private key can be used as a sign-in method.

You can enable more than one sign-in method for the same Phantom profile. For example, you could use either your Google account or an enabled recovery phrase to access the same profile.

Sign-in methods and wallet accounts #

A sign-in method gives you access to your Phantom profile. It doesn't give that credential control over every wallet you've imported.

Imported wallets remain controlled by their own recovery phrase or private key. For example, signing in with Google can give you access to your Phantom profile, but an imported wallet still requires its own recovery phrase or private key to control its accounts.

Imported wallets don't automatically become sign-in methods #

When you import a wallet using a recovery phrase or private key, Phantom adds its accounts to your device. The recovery phrase or private key doesn't automatically become another sign-in method for your Phantom profile.

If eligible, you can choose to enable it as a sign-in method from Sign-in Methods.

View your sign-in methods #

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Security & Privacy.
3. Tap Sign-in Methods.

You'll see the sign-in methods associated with your Phantom profile. Select a sign-in method to see the accounts associated with it.

Enable or disable a sign-in method #

From Sign-in Methods, tap Edit to choose which eligible recovery phrases or private keys can be used to sign in.

Turning on an eligible recovery phrase or private key makes it a sign-in method for your Phantom profile. Turning it off means you can no longer use it to sign in to that profile.

Turning off a sign-in method doesn’t remove its wallet or funds - it simply means that you cannot use that account to access your phantom profile.

Confirm your sign-in methods #

Phantom may ask you to confirm your sign-in methods. This lets you review the credentials that can access your Phantom profile.

Review each sign-in method and its associated accounts. If everything looks right, tap Confirm. To make changes first, tap Edit.

Confirming your sign-in methods doesn't move or change your funds.

Keep your sign-in methods secure #

Anyone with access to an enabled sign-in method can access your Phantom profile, including profile-level features such as Cash and predictions.

Keep your Google or Apple account secure, and never share a recovery phrase or private key with anyone. Phantom Support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key.
