Move Phantom to a new phone
To use Phantom on your new phone, restore your wallet with the same credentials you used to set it up.
Your Phantom app may transfer through iCloud or Google Drive, but your wallet credentials don’t transfer automatically.
Before you begin #
Make sure you have the credentials for each wallet you want to restore:
- Apple or Google wallet: Access to the same Apple or Google account and your four-digit PIN, if you set one.
- Recovery phrase wallet: Your 12- or 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase.
- Additional imported wallets: Any recovery phrases or private keys you imported separately.
To find your credentials, see View your recovery phrase or private keys in Phantom.
Restore your wallet #
- Download and open Phantom on your new phone.
- On the welcome screen, choose how to restore your wallet:
- Apple or Google: Tap Continue with Apple or Continue with Google, then sign in with the same account. Enter your PIN if prompted.
- Recovery phrase: Tap More Options > Import Recovery Phrase, then enter your words in the correct order.
- Import any additional wallets using their recovery phrases or private keys.
Your funds, collectibles, Cash account, and other assets should appear after you restore your wallet.
If an account is missing #
If you created your wallet with Google or Apple, only "Account 1" appears automatically after you restore it. If you had additional accounts, such as "Account 2," add them back:
- On the Home tab, tap your account name above your balance.
- Tap the + button in the upper right.
- Tap Add Account > Create New Account.
- Repeat as needed to add your accounts back.
For wallets you imported separately, see Sign in to or import an existing Phantom wallet.
If you can't use your wallet after opening Phantom on the new phone #
If Phantom opens but you can’t use your wallet, your sign-in session may have expired after the app transferred from a backup.
Before resetting Phantom, make sure you have the original credentials for the wallet. You’ll need them to restore access. If you previously imported additional recovery phrases or private keys, have those in hand, too.
- Go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Reset App. If you can’t access this option, uninstall Phantom and download it again.
- Open Phantom and restore your wallets using the same Apple or Google account, recovery phrases, or private keys.
Resetting Phantom clears its local data. It doesn’t erase your wallets or funds.
