What if I lost my recovery phrase, private key, or PIN?

Your recovery options depend on how you created your wallet and whether you can still open it on another device. Phantom Support cannot recover your recovery phrase, private keys, or PIN for you.

Warning: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key with anyone. Anyone with access to either has full control of your wallet. Phantom Support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key.

If you can still open your wallet #

Back up your wallet before signing out, resetting Phantom, or reinstalling the app.

Back up your recovery phrases and private keys #

Follow View your recovery phrase or private keys in Phantom, then store your backups securely offline.

  • Back up each recovery phrase, including any additional phrases you imported.
  • Back up each separately imported private key. Your wallet’s recovery phrase does not restore these accounts.
Reset a forgotten PIN #

If your Google or Apple wallet still uses a four-digit PIN, go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Reset PIN, then create a new PIN.

If your wallet is a Google or Apple wallet but you don't see the Reset PIN option, that means your wallet uses Phantom KMS and doesn't require a PIN to sign in.

If you cannot open your wallet on any device #

Lost recovery phrase or private key #

If you created or imported your wallet with a recovery phrase, that phrase restores the accounts derived from it. A private key backup restores only its corresponding account on one network.

Accounts imported separately with other recovery phrases or private keys need their own backups.

Without a backup or access elsewhere, you cannot restore the wallet. Phantom Support cannot recover these credentials for you.

Forgotten PIN #

If Phantom asks for your four-digit PIN when signing in with Google or Apple and you have forgotten it, you can import a previously exported recovery phrase to restore your wallet without the PIN.

If you have no recovery phrase backup and cannot access your wallet on another device, you cannot restore access. Phantom Support cannot retrieve or reset your PIN for you.

Warning: After seven incorrect PIN attempts, the encrypted backup on the device is deleted.
