What to do if you don't have enough native tokens to pay network fees
If you're seeing "Not Enough SOL," "Insufficient SOL," or a similar error when making a transaction in Phantom, this means that your wallet doesn't have enough of the network's native token to pay the transaction fee.
Every blockchain transaction requires a small network fee. The fee goes to the validators that process transactions, not to Phantom. Phantom doesn't set, receive, or control these fees.
You typically pay the fee in the network's native token, such as SOL on Solana or ETH on Ethereum. In some cases, Phantom may prompt you to pay the fee in another suitable token. See Understanding gasless EVM transactions in Phantom for details.
Why you're seeing this message #
You have some native tokens, but not enough #
If you're trying to send your entire balance, remember that the network fee is charged separately.
To continue, reduce the amount slightly so enough of the native token remains to pay the fee. Or if you have balance in your Cash account, swap it for the native token.
For suggested amounts by network, see Native tokens by network.
Phantom may also prompt you to use another token to pay the fee. See Understanding gasless EVM transactions in Phantom for details.
You have none of the native token #
If your balance of the native token is zero, you won't be able to send, swap, or bridge assets on that network.
To continue, send yourself a small amount of the native token from another wallet or an exchange. Or if you have balance in your Cash account, swap it for the native token.
After it arrives, try the transaction again.
Phantom may also prompt you to use another token to pay the fee. See Understanding gasless EVM transactions in Phantom for details.
