How to cancel a transaction

  • Updated

You can only cancel transactions on Ethereum and Polygon (EVM networks).

Transactions on Solana, Bitcoin, and most other chains can't be canceled once submitted. These networks don't support replacement or cancellation transactions. After you select Send, the transaction will either confirm or fail on its own. Always double-check the transaction details before sending on non-EVM networks.

Transactions usually complete within seconds or minutes, so if you want to cancel one, you’ll need to act fast. Phantom supports cancellation on Ethereum and Polygon through a built-in Cancel feature:

  1. Select the clock icon at the bottom of Phantom to open Recent Activity.

  2. Locate the pending transaction you want to cancel.

  3. Select the transaction, then select Cancel.

Note: Canceling simply broadcasts a replacement transaction with a higher fee; it may still confirm if the original propagates through the network first.
