Increase the network fee to speed up a transaction

  • Updated

If your transaction is pending, you may be able to speed it up by resending it with a higher network fee. This option is only available for eligible transactions on supported networks.

Manual fee adjustments are only available for native token transfers on Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Bitcoin, and HyperEVM. Examples include sending ETH, POL, BTC, or HYPE.

You cannot manually adjust fees for these transactions:

  • Non-native token transfers such as USDC or other tokens.
  • NFT transactions and app interactions.
  • All transactions on Solana, Sui, and Monad.

If your transaction is not eligible, increasing the fee is not available. On fast networks like Solana, transactions typically confirm in seconds without manual fee adjustments.

Choose a fee speed before you send

For eligible native token transfers, you can choose a fee speed from the transaction preview screen before sending.

  1. On the transaction preview screen, select Network fee.
  2. Choose a speed: Fast, Average, or Slow.
  3. Select Save.

Faster options usually cost more because they signal higher priority to the network. On less congested networks, the price difference between Slow and Fast is often minimal.

Network fee speed options in Phantom

Speed up a pending transaction

If an eligible transaction is still pending, you may be able to speed it up from Recent Activity.

  1. In Phantom, go to Recent Activity (clock icon).
  2. Select the pending transaction.
  3. Select Speed up.
  4. Confirm the request to resend the transaction with a higher fee.

After you confirm, Phantom resubmits the transaction with a higher fee. You can continue checking the transaction status in Recent Activity.

Note: Increasing the fee improves your chances of faster confirmation, but it does not guarantee confirmation by a specific time.
