Speed up a transaction

  • Updated

When network activity is high, transactions can take longer than expected to confirm. In some cases, you can manually increase the network fee to improve your chances of a faster confirmation.

Manual fee adjustments are only available for native token transfers on Ethereum, Polygon, and Bitcoin, such as ETH, POL, or BTC. App interactions, non-native token transfers such as USDC, NFT transactions, and all transactions on Solana, Sui, Base, and Monad do not support manual fee adjustments.

Note: Increasing the gas fee does not guarantee faster confirmation, but it can improve your chances, especially during periods of high congestion.

Speed up a transaction before sending it

If you want to speed up a transaction before sending, follow these steps:

  1. In Phantom, on the transaction preview screen, select Network fee.
  2. Choose a speed:
    • Fast: Higher fee and the fastest confirmation.
    • Average: Balanced speed and cost (default).
    • Slow: Lower fee and slower confirmation.
  3. Select Save.

Speed up a pending transaction

If you already sent a transaction and it is still pending, you can try to speed it up by following these steps:

  1. In Phantom, go to Recent Activity (clock icon).
  2. Select the pending transaction.
  3. Select Speed up.
  4. Confirm to resend the transaction with a higher network fee.
