How to use Phantom with Firefox Private Browsing

  • Updated

If you’re seeing a blank screen or experiencing issues with the Phantom extension while using Firefox Private Browsing, it’s likely due to a browser setting. By default, Firefox restricts certain storage features in Private Browsing, including indexedDB, which Phantom relies on.

Use Phantom with Firefox Private Browsing

To enable Phantom in Firefox Private Browsing, follow these steps:

  1. Open a new tab in Firefox.
  2. Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. Accept the risk warning if prompted.
  4. Search for dom.indexedDB.privateBrowsing.enabled.
  5. Set the value to true by clicking the toggle button.

This change allows Phantom to function properly in Private Browsing mode.
