Disconnecting a wallet is not the same as revoking token approvals or smart contract allowances. If you need to revoke token approvals, check out this article: How to revoke token approvals.
What happens when you connect your wallet
When you connect your wallet to a decentralized application (dApp), you’re giving the dApp permission to:
- View your wallet address
- See your token balances
- Access your transaction history
- Initiate transactions on your behalf
What disconnecting your wallet does
When you disconnect your wallet, the dApp loses read-only access. It can no longer view your wallet contents or initiate transactions.
Important: Disconnecting does not revoke any token approvals or smart contract allowances. If you’ve previously approved a dApp to move your funds, that access remains until you manually revoke it.
Disconnect your Phantom wallet from connected dApps
- Open the Phantom app.
- Select your account in the top-left corner.
- Go to Settings > Connected Apps.
- Select the app you want to disconnect from, then select Disconnect.
- To disconnect from all dApps, select the three dots in the top-right cornet, then select Disconnect from all.
Stay safe when connected to dApps
- Only connect your wallet to dApps you trust.
- If you’re exploring a new or unfamiliar dApp, consider using a burner wallet—a separate wallet created just for testing.
- Never enter your seed phrase or private key. No legitimate dApp will ask for this information to connect or transact.
