How to move your Phantom wallet to a new phone

  • Updated

When you upgrade to a new phone, you might transfer apps and data using a cloud service like iCloud or Google One. But crypto wallets don’t transfer sensitive data like your Secret Recovery Phrase (SRP). This means:

  • The Phantom app will appear on your new phone after syncing
  • But you’ll be asked to create a new wallet or import an existing one the first time you open it

To avoid losing access to your funds, make sure you have your recovery details before switching.

Migrate Phantom to a new phone

To keep access to your wallet, follow these steps:

  1. On your old device, open Phantom and view your recovery phrase or private key.
  2. Save your recovery info securely—preferably offline (on paper) or in a password manager.
  3. On your new device, download the Phantom app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  4. Open Phantom and select “I already have a wallet”, then choose how to restore:
    • Enter your Secret Recovery Phrase
    • Or paste your private key (for single accounts)
  5. On your new device, download the Phantom app and import your wallet.
  6. If some of your accounts are missing, follow these steps to recover missing accounts.
