Do I need to manually add tokens?

  • Updated

No, you don’t need to manually add tokens in Phantom. When someone sends you tokens—or when you deposit them from another wallet or exchange—they’ll appear in your wallet automatically once the transaction is confirmed on-chain. Phantom supports a wide range of tokens across multiple networks, so you don’t need to import anything manually.

This article explains how token detection works and what to expect after sending or receiving tokens.

Let's take Solana-based tokens like USDT, USDC, BONK and many others as an example.

To receive tokens:

  1. Open Phantom and on the Home tab, select Receive.
  2. Select Solana to copy your receiving address.
  3. Paste your Phantom Solana address into the Send field of another account or wallet, and send the tokens to your destination address.

This process is the same for all of the networks that Phantom supports. If you haven’t received tokens yet and need help sending them to your wallet, check out How to deposit tokens into Phantom.

Important: While this is the process for Phantom, not all wallets and exchanges operate the same way. Before sending tokens to a different wallet or exchange account, ensure that the receiving platform supports the token, or you may risk losing the tokens.
