How to export your private key

Warning: Do not share your secret recovery phrase or private key with anyone. If someone has access to your recovery phrase or private key, they will have access to your wallet. Phantom support will never ask you for your recovery phrase or your private key.

You can export your private key from the Phantom browser extension if you still have access to your wallet. This process includes multiple security warnings, and you’ll need to confirm that you understand the risks.

Your private key is stored locally on your device in a secure vault file. To access it, you must unlock your wallet using your password or biometrics.

Export your private key in the browser extension

1. Open Phantom and select your avatar in the upper-left corner.
2. Select Manage Accounts at the bottom (pencil symbol) to  view all your currently loaded accounts.
3. Select the account for which you want to export the private key.
4. Select Show Private Key and enter your wallet password to continue.
5. Select the network for which you want to export the private key:
   1. Ethereum, Base, Polygon, and Monad use the same private key for a given account.
   2. Solana, Bitcoin, and Sui each have unique private keys.
6. Review the security warning and select the checkbox to confirm.
7. Copy your private key and securely store it in a safe location.

Export your private key in the mobile app

1. Open Phantom and select the account name at the top of the screen to view all your currently loaded accounts.
2. Select the pencil icon next to the account for which you want to export the private key.
3. Select Show Private Key.
4. Review the security warning and select the checkbox to confirm.
5. Select the network for which you want to export the private key:
   1. Ethereum, Base, Polygon, and Monad use the same private key for a given account.
   2. Solana, Bitcoin, and Sui each have unique private keys.
6. Copy your private key and securely store it in a safe location.

Important: Your private keys are only accessible by the original owner. If they're lost, there is nothing Phantom can do to help you recover the wallet.
