How to export your private key from Phantom

  • Updated

Warning: Don't share your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key with anyone. If someone has access to either, they will have full control of your wallet. Phantom Support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key.

You can export your private key from the Phantom browser extension if you still have access to your wallet. This process includes multiple security warnings, and you’ll need to confirm that you understand the risks.

Your private key is stored locally on your device in a secure vault file. To access it, you must unlock your wallet using your password or biometrics.

Phantom is a multi-chain wallet. Here's what you need to know:

  • Ethereum, Base, Polygon, and Monad use the same private key for a given account.
  • Solana, Bitcoin, and Sui each have unique private keys.
