Delete your Phantom wallet

  • Updated

Phantom is a self-custodial wallet, so your wallet and accounts are never stored on Phantom's servers. How you delete a wallet, and what deletion does, depends on how you created it. Your wallet addresses stay on the blockchain permanently and can't be erased.

Before you start

Back up your Secret Recovery Phrase first, in case you want to restore your wallet later. See View your recovery phrase or private keys in Phantom.

Wallets created with a Google or Apple account

For a wallet created with a Google or Apple account, deleting it unlinks that account from your Phantom profile. You can then create a new wallet with the same Google or Apple account. Your previous wallet addresses stay on the blockchain permanently.

In the Phantom mobile app, go to SettingsSecurity & Privacy and tap Delete Wallet.

If your Cash account has funds, Phantom prompts you to transfer them out first. Tap Transfer and enter a destination address you'll still have access to later, or tap Continue Anyway to skip and proceed with unlinking.

If Delete Wallet is grayed out or missing, contact Phantom Support.

Wallets created with a Secret Recovery Phrase

A wallet created with a Secret Recovery Phrase has no unlinking option. Instead, you can reset the Phantom app. This clears your local wallet data and returns the app to the starting screen. You can then create a new wallet with a fresh recovery phrase.

To reset the app, go to SettingsSecurity & PrivacyReset App.

Your wallet addresses stay on the blockchain permanently, but once you reset the app, you'll no longer have access to them through Phantom.
