Add wallets and accounts to your Phantom wallet

  • Updated

After setting up Phantom, you can add more wallets and accounts to your existing wallet. You can create another account from your current recovery phrase, import another recovery phrase or private key, connect a Ledger hardware wallet, or add a watch-only address.

Create a new account in your existing wallet

Creates another account from your existing Secret Recovery Phrase without creating a new wallet. Use this to keep funds, apps, or activities separate without creating a new wallet. If you have imported multiple recovery phrases, Phantom asks which one to derive the account from.

Note: If you imported an existing wallet and some of your previously used accounts aren't showing, see Accounts are missing after importing.

Mobile app

  1. On the Home tab, tap your account name above your balance.
  2. Tap the + button in the upper right.
  3. Tap Create New Account.
  4. Tap Create.

Understand how imported wallets behave

If you already set up a Phantom wallet, and then import an additional Secret Recovery Phrase or private key, Phantom treats it as a separate wallet rather than merging it with your primary wallet. For example, if you import an additional "Recovery Phrase 2" into the mobile app, it won't show up on the browser extension. If you reset Phantom on mobile and restore your primary wallet, "Recovery Phrase 2" won't appear either. You'll need to import it again manually.

Keep a record of every recovery phrase or private key you import. If you reset Phantom and restore using only your primary wallet's recovery phrase or Google or Apple account, your imported wallets won't return.

If you imported a recovery phrase that has a Cash account, you won't be able to access those funds. To access them, reset Phantom and restore using that recovery phrase as your primary wallet.
