You can add wallets to the Phantom app in five different ways. This guide explains each option and what it offers.
Before you begin
- To access this section, go to Settings > Manage Accounts, then select Add Wallet in the mobile app or Add / Connect Wallet in the browser extension.
- If you’re setting up Phantom for the first time or want to import an existing wallet, see How to create a new wallet. It walks you through creating or importing your wallet during app onboarding.
Add a new wallet to Phantom
Option 1: Create a new account
Create a new multi-chain account using your current secret recovery phrase.
- If you’ve imported multiple phrases, you’ll be prompted to select which one to use.
- This adds a fresh account without changing your existing ones.
For details, see How to get started with Phantom.
Option 2: Connect a hardware wallet
Connect your Ledger device to Phantom using our built-in onboarding flow. This option supports Ledger wallets for all chains Phantom supports.
For details, see How to use your Ledger Nano hardware wallet.
Option 3: Import a secret recovery phrase
Import a wallet using an existing secret recovery phrase (also known as a seed phrase).
- All accounts tied to the phrase will be imported.
- Supported across all Phantom-compatible chains.
For details, see How to import an existing wallet into Phantom.
Option 4: Import a private key
Add a specific wallet by entering its private key. Only the wallet tied to that private key will be imported.
For details, see How to import an existing wallet into Phantom.
Option 5: Add a view-only wallet
Monitor balances and transactions without full access. View-only wallets let you track activity without sending transactions.
For details, see Understanding Wallet Watcher and resolving view-only issues in Phantom.
