Configuring the Auto-Lock/Face ID Authentication Timer for Enhanced Security
To enhance the security of your crypto assets, Phantom offers an auto-lock timer feature. This feature automatically locks your wallet app after a specified period of inactivity, providing an added layer of protection if you forget to manually lock the app or if someone gains temporary access to your device.
To set up the auto-lock timer:
- Open your Phantom app and navigate to the settings menu by tapping on the wallet icon in the top left, then selecting the gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Go to "Security & Privacy."
- Select "Auto-Lock Timer" or the “Require Authentication” option under your Face ID (iOS) Authentication Settings
- Choose a timeframe that best suits your security needs.
If you select "Immediately," your wallet will lock instantly upon closing the app. To regain access, you will need to authenticate using your password, PIN, or Face ID each time you open the app. This ensures maximum security for your digital assets.
