Phantom supports the Base network, so you can hold, send, receive, buy, and swap tokens on Base—including ETH.
Turn Base on or off
Base is usually on by default. If you don't see it, turn it on in Settings.
- Select your profile avatar in the upper left.
- Go to Settings → Active Networks.
- Turn on Base.
After you turn it on, your Base address appears with your other multi-chain addresses. Because Base is EVM-compatible, it shares the same address as Ethereum and Polygon—starting with 0x.
To stop using Base, go to Active Networks and turn Base off.
Get started with Base
ETH is the native token on Base. You'll use it to pay gas fees for transactions on the network.
When Base is active, ETH is added to your portfolio automatically.
Note: ETH on Base isn't the same as ETH on Ethereum. You can't send ETH directly between the two networks without bridging.
