How to Buy ETH and USDC on the Base Network

  • Updated

Currently, you can purchase Ethereum (ETH) and USDC on the Base network using one of our supported onramp providers. Once your purchase is complete, you can easily use our built-in swapper to exchange these tokens for any assets on the Base network.

Here are the steps:

  1. Open your wallet and select "Buy":
From the wallet homepage, tap the "Buy" option.

  2. Choose your asset on Base:
Select Ethereum (ETH) or USDC. Make sure to choose the token that has the Base network icon pinned to it.

  3. Enter the amount:
Input the amount of fiat currency you want to spend. The platform will automatically load the route that offers the best return for your transaction.

  4. View payment options:
To explore all available quotes for the chosen provider, select the tab that says "Credit & Debit Card." Then, tap the payment method ("Credit & Debit Card") at the top of the Quotes screen to view all payment options, including:

    • Apple Pay
    • Google Pay
    • Debit/Credit Card
    • Bank transfer
  5. Select your preferred provider:
A list of live quotes will appear, sorted by price in descending order. Choose the provider that works best for you. (One recommendation we have is to look through the providers ahead of time and start creating accounts with them. That way, when it's time to carry out your transaction in Phantom, you can quickly sign in at the time of purchase!)

  6. Complete your purchase:
After selecting a provider, you’ll be brought back to the screen where the suggested route was initially loaded. Tap “Buy” to proceed. A pop-up window will appear for you to finalize your purchase.

  7. Contact support if needed:
If you run into any issues with the provider, you will need to contact their support for further assistance. Please refer to this article for their contact information: Contact Information for Onramp Providers.
