Why do I see unknown accounts or username in my wallet?

Phantom recently added username functionality that syncs across all devices. If you notice unexpected watch wallet (view-only) accounts or an unfamiliar username in your Phantom wallet, this may be due to:

  • Your 12-word recovery phrase being shared or compromised
  • Imported private keys that didn't originate from your wallet and are shared with others

How to Fix This Issue

Option 1: Contact Support

Phantom support recommends reaching out for personalized assistance with this issue.  You can do so by submitting a ticket here.

Option 2: Self-Resolution Steps

  1. Back up your current wallet:
    • Save all recovery phrase(s) and any imported private keys
  2. Reset your Phantom wallet:
    • Go to Settings
    • Select Security
    • Choose "Reset App"
  3. Restore your wallet:
    • Only restore using your personal recovery phrase
    • Only import private keys that you exclusively own
    • Do not import any shared private keys
