Swap Bitcoin in Phantom

You can swap Bitcoin directly in Phantom on mobile and the extension. This lets you trade between Bitcoin and other tokens on supported networks without using a third-party exchange.

Important: Bitcoin swaps have higher network fees than swaps on Solana or EVM networks, because transactions on Bitcoin cost more. We show fees in the quote before you confirm your swap. Bitcoin transactions also take considerably longer to confirm.

Swap Bitcoin in Phantom

  1. Go to the Swap tab.
  2. In You Pay, select a supported token. For example, SOL on Solana.
  3. In You Receive, select the Bitcoin network, then select Bitcoin.
  4. Enter the amount you want to swap.
  5. Review the fees and select Swap Now.

Phantom shows an estimated time to complete the swap. Bitcoin appears in your portfolio after the swap completes.

Swap Bitcoin using an exchange

You can get swap Bitcoin by sending it to an exchange, then swapping to the token you need.

  1. Choose an exchange that supports Bitcoin and has the trading pair you’re looking for. For example, Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken. 
  2. Create an account on the exchange or sign in to your existing account.
  3. Go to the deposit section for on-chain transfers.
  4. Look up the Bitcoin deposit address on the exchange and copy it.
  5. In Phantom, select Send → choose Bitcoin (Taproot or Native Segwit addresses) → paste the exchange’s Bitcoin deposit address into Phantom, enter the amount, and tap Send.
  6. Go to the exchange’s swap or trading section and select the token you want to swap for Bitcoin.
  7. Review the trade details, including fees and exchange rate, then confirm the swap.

FAQ

Why don't I see Bitcoin in the list of networks?

If you're trying to swap to Bitcoin but don't see Bitcoin in the list of networks, make sure that the Bitcoin network is enabled in your app. Go to SettingsActive Networks and turn on Bitcoin.

Are Bitcoin swaps supported on Sui or Monad?

No. Bitcoin swaps currently support Solana and EVM networks (Base, Polygon, Ethereum).

Can I swap wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC)?

Only on the same network (for example, wBTC ↔ USDC on Ethereum). To trade real Bitcoin, choose the Bitcoin network in Phantom.

Can I swap Bitcoin on the extension?

Yes. Both the Phantom mobile app and browser extension support Bitcoin swaps.
