How to create a username in Phantom

  • Updated

Personalizing your Phantom experience is easier than ever with the option to claim your unique username. This feature simplifies your wallet identity and enhances how you interact in the Web3 space. Here’s everything you need to know:

Option 1: When creating a new wallet

  1. Enter your desired username and check availability:
    • If the username is available, you’ll see a message that says “Username available.”
    • If the username is taken, you’ll see “Username unavailable.” Try a different username.
  2. Once you’ve chosen an available username, follow the final on-screen prompts to confirm and claim it.

Option 2: Configuring in your Phantom settings

  1. Upon opening your Phantom wallet, tap the User Icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
  2. In the resulting accounts popup, tap the Gear Icon in the top-right corner to open your wallet Settings.
  3. At the top of your Settings screen, you’ll see a settings option close to the top prompting you to claim your username. Tap the Username preferences section to begin.
  4. Similar to the steps above in Option 1, enter your desired username and check availability:
    • If the username is available, you’ll see a message that says “Username available.”
    • If the username is taken, you’ll see “Username unavailable.” Try a different username.
  5. Once you’ve chosen an available username, follow the final on-screen prompts to confirm and claim it.
