Export your transaction history for taxes

  • Updated

Phantom is a self-custody wallet, not an exchange. Phantom does not issue tax forms, such as 1099s, hold your funds, or provide tax advice. Your transactions happen directly on the blockchain, and you are responsible for tracking and reporting them.

To prepare your crypto taxes, you may need your public wallet addresses and onchain transaction history. You can export transaction history using blockchain explorers or use a third-party crypto tax tool that supports wallet address imports.

Warning: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase or private keys with anyone, including Phantom Support. Tax tools and blockchain explorers only need your public wallet address.

Crypto tax platforms with benefits for Phantom users

These third-party platforms can help you track and categorize transactions across multiple networks and wallets. Phantom users may receive benefits when accessing these platforms through the links below:

Export manually from blockchain explorers

If you prefer to export manually, download your transaction history from blockchain explorers and upload the CSV file to your tax tool.

Before you export

Before exporting, gather the addresses and reporting details you need:

  • List all wallet addresses you need to report. See Find your wallet address in Phantom.
  • Repeat the export for each address and network you need to report. A Phantom account can have different addresses across supported networks.
  • Exports vary by explorer. Some include only transfers, while others include contract interactions. Check your tax tool's import requirements before uploading a CSV file.
