Phantom plans to end its support for Monad network on August 26th (the transition date). After this date, you will no longer be able to view, send, swap, or interact with Monad assets in Phantom. Your assets are not lost. They remain on the Monad blockchain and can be accessed using a compatible wallet with the same credentials.
If you hold any assets on Monad, take action before the transition date to swap them to a supported network inside Phantom or move your wallet to an app that supports Monad.
Warning: Phantom will never message you first, ask for your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key, or offer to move your assets for you. Treat any unexpected offer of migration help as a scam.
Option 1: Swap inside Phantom
If you want to continue using Phantom, swap your Monad assets to a supported network before the transition date.
Phantom has waived its fee on cross-chain swaps from native MON to wrapped MON on Solana through the transition date (network and exchange fees still apply). You can also swap to another supported asset, such as SOL, ETH, or USDC, though standard fees apply.
- Open Phantom on mobile or in the browser extension.
- Open the MON token you want to swap.
- On mobile, tap Sell. In the browser extension, click Swap.
- Choose the asset you want to receive:
- Wrapped MON on Solana.
- Another supported asset, such as SOL, ETH, or USDC.
- Review and confirm the swap.
After the swap, you’ll hold the selected asset on a network that continues to be supported in Phantom.
Option 2: Move to another wallet
If you want to keep using Monad after the transition date, import your wallet into another app that supports the network.
To do that, you’ll need the credentials for the wallet that holds your Monad assets.
- In Phantom, go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Show Recovery Phrase.
- Write down your Secret Recovery Phrase and store it securely offline.
- Choose any wallet listed in Supported wallets on Monad.
- Import your Secret Recovery Phrase into that wallet.
Your existing address and assets will appear automatically. You can do this before or after the transition date.
If you imported additional recovery phrases or private keys into Phantom that hold Monad assets, export and import each one separately.
What happens after the transition date
After the transition date, Phantom will no longer display Monad balances, support Monad transactions, or show Monad in the network list. Your assets are not deleted or lost. They remain on the Monad blockchain and can be accessed using a compatible wallet with the same credentials.
FAQ
Are my funds safe?
Yes. Phantom is self-custodial. Your assets live on the blockchain and are controlled by your recovery phrase or private key, not by Phantom. Ending support changes what Phantom displays, not what you own. There is no deadline on accessing your funds.
Will Phantom contact me to help with the transition?
No. Phantom will never reach out asking for your seed phrase or private keys, and we will never contact you offering to help move your funds to any other wallet. Anyone who does is trying to scam you. All legitimate guidance lives in the app and in this help article.
What happens on the transition date?
Phantom will no longer display Monad balances or support Monad transactions in-app. Your assets remain onchain and can still be accessed using a compatible wallet with the same credentials.
What if I miss the window entirely?
Nothing is lost. Your funds stay onchain under your control. Restore your wallet in a compatible app using the same credentials whenever you’re ready.
What about apps I've connected to through Phantom?
Connections through Phantom on Monad stop working after the transition. Reconnect using the wallet app in which you imported your credentials.
