Check a token's contract address before you interact with it

  • Updated

Before you swap, send, or buy a token, check its contract address to confirm you're looking at the right one. A contract address is a token’s unique blockchain ID that lets you verify you're buying the exact token you intend to buy, even if other tokens have the same name.

Find a token's contract address in Phantom

  1. Open a token.
  2. Scroll down to the Info section and look for a Mint or Contract field:
    • Tokens on Solana use Mint.
    • Tokens on Ethereum, other EVM networks, and Sui use Contract.
  3. Copy the address.

Check the contract address for red flags

Third-party tools can scan a contract address for common warning signs such as unlocked liquidity, suspicious permissions, or patterns associated with scams.

These tools can identify red flags but cannot guarantee a token is safe. If a token looks risky or results are unclear, don't interact with it until you verify it through the project's official sources and a trusted blockchain explorer.
