What if I lost my recovery phrase, private key, or PIN?

  • Updated

Your four-digit PIN, Secret Recovery Phrase, and private keys are the credentials used to access and restore your Phantom wallet.

Phantom cannot recover these credentials for you. If you lose access to your wallet, you cannot retrieve your recovery phrase or private key from your device storage either.

Warning: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key with anyone. Anyone with access to either has full control of your wallet. Phantom Support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key.

If you are still logged in to Phantom

If you still have access to your wallet on any device, back up or reset your credentials now, while you can.

Recovery phrase or private key

Export it while you have access, then store it in a secure, offline location. Follow the steps in View your recovery phrase or private keys in Phantom.

PIN

Reset it from inside your wallet. Go to SettingsSecurity & PrivacyReset PIN, then create a new PIN.

If you are logged out of Phantom

If you are logged out on all your devices and do not have a backup, there is no way to restore access. Phantom does not store your PIN, recovery phrase, or private keys, so they cannot be retrieved once access is lost.
