I imported my wallet but some accounts are missing, how do I restore all of my accounts?

  • Updated
The easiest way to restore all of your accounts is to make sure each account has a history of activity so that Phantom can auto-detect it when you initially enter in your secret recovery phrase upon import.
If you don't know the wallet address, you can find it by accessing the transaction history of a wallet that was previously used to send funds to the wallet or by checking your exchange transaction history.
If you imported the missing wallet using a private key, it won't use the same seed phrase as your current wallet. You'll need the original seed phrase or only use the exact private key.

About Seed Phrases on the Phantom Wallet

The Phantom Wallet uses 12-24 words from the BIP-39 word list, which is a standard used by many crypto wallets. If you have any other seed phrases, it's worth trying those to try and restore your wallet.

Follow these steps help resolve detection issues:

  1. Make sure your Secret Recovery Phrase is written down correctly and backed up
  2. Send a small amount of tokens to each account you would like to restore (check block explorers to confirm your transactions went through)
  3. Go into Settings > Security & Privacy > Reset App (This will start the import process once again)
  4. Re-import your wallet using your Secret Recovery Phrase
  5. All of your accounts should be detected and available through Phantom again

Missing Ledger wallet

If you previously had a Ledger wallet connected to Phantom, please be aware that it will not be automatically recovered when you import the seed phrase. To regain access to your Ledger wallet through Phantom, you will need to manually reconnect the Ledger device by navigating through the settings in the Phantom app. It is crucial to remember that you should never import the Ledger seed phrase directly into Phantom. Doing so will not allow you to recover your wallet and, more importantly, it undermines the security features that Ledger wallets are designed to provide.

Imported wallet from another wallet provider

Its important to note that some wallet providers use different derivation paths. If you imported a wallet from another wallet and don't see the wallet you should check which derivation paths are used.  Its possible Phantom does not support a derivation path meaning you will not be able to recover the wallet in Phantom.

Note: If the wallet is still not recovering with the seed phrase in Phantom try importing the seed phrase into another wallet provider.  If you are still missing the wallet then you are likely not using the correct seed phrase associated with this wallet.
