Chat with other traders in Phantom

  • Updated

Chats let you follow live trading activity and connect with other traders directly in Phantom on mobile. You can join chats across tokens, perps, and prediction markets.

All your recent chats and trending chats across the community are available in the Chats tab in the main navigation.

Important: Chats aren’t a support channel. Phantom Support won’t respond to issues here. Be cautious with links, scams, or financial advice from strangers.

  • Be respectful: No harassment, hate speech, or impersonating Phantom staff.

  • Avoid spam: Don’t flood chats with emojis or repeated text. Ignore giveaways, airdrops, or “too good to be true” claims.

Common issues

I can't send messages or others can't see what I type

If you're experiencing this, your account has most likely been restricted. You may see the message "You can't send messages" or your messages may appear visible to you but not to others. Try chatting again after seven days.

This can also happen if your profile privacy is set to Invisible—for example, if you deleted your wallet and then created a new one with the same email. Go to ProfileEdit ProfilePrivacy and set it to Private or Public, then restart the app and try again.

"Fund your account to participate"

You need at least $1 in your wallet to chat. Add funds, then try again.

What are leaderboards in token chats?

  • Silver star: second largest holder
  • Bronze thumbs-up: third largest holder

Leaderboards aren’t shown in perp chats or prediction market chats.

What do the various symbols in a chat mean?

Token chats

In token chats, the symbols next to usernames are badges. They show how much of a token a user holds compared to others in the chat. Badges update automatically based on relative holding size:

  • Poo: hold $1+ of the token
  • Peach: hold $10+ of the token
  • Fire: hold $100+ of the token
  • Card: hold $1,000+ of the token
  • Diamond: hold $10,000+ of the token

Tap the purple ribbon badge icon in the lower left of a chat to view badge definitions. Badges are experimental, and some users may not see them.

Prediction market chats

In prediction market chats, chats display a user’s top holding when showing activity or positions. If a user holds contracts for multiple outcomes, only their largest position is shown. This updates automatically as their holdings change.

How are chats moderated?

Phantom uses moderation tools and community reporting to keep chats safe and spam-free.
