About Phantom Cash

Phantom Cash is a suite of financial tools built into your Phantom wallet. It lets you hold, send, receive, and spend money in one place—powered by crypto but designed to feel like everyday money.

What is a Cash account?

Your Cash account is a self-custodial wallet on Solana tied to your Phantom username. It always holds CASH, a USD-pegged stablecoin, and your balance is displayed in USD.

Your Phantom profile (the same identity that powers your Phantom username) owns both your regular Phantom wallet accounts and your dedicated Cash account.

In the Phantom mobile app, you'll see a dedicated Cash tab that gives you access to your Cash account. Swaps and peer-to-peer transfers happen instantly without transaction prompts.

If you're in the US (except NY), you can also link a bank account for deposits and withdrawals, and spend your balance with the Phantom Cash debit card.

How it works

Partners

Phantom Cash connects to traditional finance through the following partners:

• Stripe handles KYC and funding via linked US bank accounts, debit cards, or Apple Pay.
• Bridge powers the Phantom Cash debit card and US bank deposits and withdrawals.
• Lead Bank issues the Phantom Cash debit card.

Your CASH is always held onchain.

Funding

You can add funds to your Cash account in the following ways:

Onchain (worldwide):

• Swap Solana tokens into CASH in your Cash account balance.
• Receive CASH from other Phantom users or Solana wallets.

Offchain (US only, except NY):

• Add funds via Stripe using a linked US bank account, debit card, or Apple Pay.
• Receive ACH direct deposits or domestic wire transfers using your routing and account numbers.

When you use offchain funding, Bridge receives the funds and converts them 1:1 into CASH, which is credited to your Cash account. See Deposit money into your Cash account for step-by-step instructions.

Sending

You can send funds from your Cash account in the following ways:

Onchain (worldwide):

• To Phantom usernames: If the recipient has Phantom Cash activated, they receive the funds in their Cash account. If not, funds arrive as CASH tokens in their wallet.
• To Solana wallets: Funds are sent as CASH tokens. If the recipient wallet doesn't have a CASH token account, you may see a one-time token account creation fee.

Offchain (US only, except NY):

Send USD to US bank accounts via ACH. Your CASH moves onchain to a Bridge address, where it's converted to USD and sent to the receiving bank. See Send CASH from your Cash account for step-by-step instructions.

Spending

If you're in the US (except NY), the Phantom Cash debit card lets you spend your Cash balance anywhere Visa is accepted—online, in apps, and in stores.

When you make a payment, Bridge draws CASH from your Cash account, converts it to USD, and the merchant is paid like any standard Visa transaction.

Swapping

You can convert Solana tokens in your Phantom wallet to CASH in your Cash account balance:

• Swaps from stablecoins (USDC, USDT, USDG, PYUSD) into your Cash account are free.            
• Swaps involving other Solana tokens use standard swap fees.
• Tokens on other chains such as Ethereum or Polygon must be bridged to Solana first.

Withdrawing

Onchain (worldwide):

Withdraw CASH from your Cash account to your Phantom wallet at any time.

Offchain (US only, except NY):

Withdraw USD to a US bank account via ACH. Your CASH moves onchain to a Bridge address, where it's converted to USD and sent to your bank.

Privacy

KYC

• Phantom doesn't store your identity documents or link your wallets to your real-world identity.
• Stripe handles KYC for Phantom Cash.
• Phantom never has access to your legal name and doesn't link your identity information with your non-Cash wallet addresses.

Bank deposits and withdrawals

• What appears onchain: Transfers between your Cash account and a Bridge wallet.
• What doesn't appear onchain: The bank destination and purpose of the transfer.

Card payments

• What appears onchain: Transfers from your Cash account to Bridge's debit card smart contract.
• What doesn't appear onchain: Merchant names, items, or receipts.
• Bridge rotates the addresses it uses.

Crypto sends

Peer-to-peer transfers to other Phantom users and sends to Solana wallets are regular blockchain transactions. Amounts and wallet addresses appear on Solana.

Security

• Self-custodial: Your Cash account is a wallet on Solana that only you control.
• Always onchain: Balances are held on Solana in CASH, never as fiat in offchain accounts.
• Partner protections: Bridge manages USD-to-CASH conversions for bank transactions. The Phantom Cash debit card is issued by Lead Bank with Bridge as the program manager.
• Recovery safeguards: Phantom's Key Management System adds recovery options and extra safeguards for Cash accounts.

Feature availability

*Requires KYC in the Phantom app, handled by Stripe. Not available in NY.

The Prepaid Debit Visa Card is issued by Lead Bank pursuant to licensing by Visa U.S.A. Inc. and may be used everywhere Visa is accepted. Must be 18 or older to apply. Fees may apply. See Cardholder Agreement and Phantom's website for details.

Bridge Ventures LLC is the program manager for the card on behalf of Lead Bank. Phantom is the platform provider for application, access, and management of the card.
