You can use your Cash balance to buy tokens on Solana, or sell tokens on Solana to fund your Cash account. Under the hood, this is swapping in and out of CASH held in your Cash account.
Before you swap
- Swaps from stablecoins (USDC, USDT, USDG, PYUSD) into your Cash account are free. Swaps involving other tokens use standard swap fees.
- Tokens on other networks such as Ethereum or Polygon cannot be swapped into your Cash account directly. Swap them to a token on Solana first.
- You can't buy or sell tokens directly on the Cash tab. Use the Buy, Sell, or Swap flows described below.
Buy tokens with your Cash account
- In the Phantom mobile app, open a token on Solana in your portfolio.
- Tap Buy.
- Confirm that the You Pay field is set to Cash. Phantom sets Cash as the default on mobile.
- Enter the amount (minimum $1).
- Tap Buy Now.
Alternatively, open the Swap tab, set You Pay to Cash, and choose the token you want to receive.
Sell tokens into your Cash account
- In the Phantom mobile app, open any token on Solana.
- Tap Sell.
- Confirm that the You Receive field is set to Cash. Phantom sets Cash as the default on mobile.
- Enter the amount (minimum $1).
- Tap Sell Now.
Alternatively, open the Swap tab, set You Receive to Cash, and choose the token you want to sell.
Move CASH from your wallet to your Cash account
If you hold CASH in your main Phantom wallet (not in your Cash account), follow these steps to move it to your Cash account.
- Open the Cash tab.
- Tap Add Cash.
- Tap Quick Sell Crypto.
- Next to CASH, tap Max to move all of it, or tap the icon next to Max to enter a custom amount.
Common issues
I swapped a token but it ended up in my Cash account
In rare cases, a token received after a swap may be incorrectly routed to your Cash account. The outgoing transfer may not appear in your activity feed. This is a known issue.
To attempt recovery:
- Open the Cash tab.
- Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right.
- Tap Settings → Recover Cash Assets → Withdraw.
The Recover Cash Assets option requires a Cash balance of at least $1. If you don't see it, add funds to reach $1 first.
If the option doesn't appear after funding, or the withdrawal doesn't resolve the issue, contact Phantom Support.
I swapped a token into Cash but my balance didn't change
- Pull down to refresh the Cash tab and wait a few minutes. Swaps are near-instant but may occasionally take a moment to reflect.
- Check the Activity section on the Cash tab for a transaction record.
- If there is no transaction record, check whether your original token balance was deducted. If it was not, the swap may not have completed. Try again.
- If the token was deducted but your Cash balance did not increase, contact Phantom Support with your transaction details.
