A token is flagged as spam in Phantom

  • Updated

Phantom automatically filters tokens that appear misleading, unsafe, or spammy to keep your wallet easier to use. This article explains how filtering works and what you can do about it.

If you're expecting a token from a transfer or swap and can't find it, see A token is missing in Phantom instead.

Phantom flags tokens automatically when they appear misleading, unsafe, or spammy. There are two possible outcomes: the token is hidden and you can turn it back on yourself, or it's filtered more strictly and won't be visible in Phantom at all. The steps below will help you tell the difference.

How filtering works

Phantom's filtering system runs automatically and applies broadly across all chains and platforms, including tokens launched on Pump.fun.

There are two levels of filtering:

  • Hidden: Phantom hides the token, but you can turn it back on yourself.
  • Strictly filtered: Phantom applies a stronger safety filter. The token won't appear in your hidden list and cannot be made visible from within Phantom.

Check if your token is hidden

Browser extension

  1. Click Tokens on the Home tab.
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the upper right.
  3. Click Manage Tokens.
  4. If your token appears here, turn it on.

Mobile app

  1. Tap Tokens on the Home tab.
  2. Tap the manage icon in the upper right.
  3. Tap Manage Tokens.
  4. If your token appears here, turn it on.

Check if the token exists at your address

If the token doesn't appear in your hidden list, it may be strictly filtered. To confirm the token is actually at your address, check a blockchain explorer for your chain. See Blockchain explorers by chain for links.

For token creators

If your token is being flagged, the most effective way to reduce that is to make sure your metadata is clear and accurate, and follows the standards of the marketplaces and platforms where it's listed.

You can also verify your token through Jupiter.

A few things to know:

  • Phantom's detection systems apply automatically and cannot be adjusted for individual tokens on request.
  • Phantom does not manually unflag tokens.
  • Phantom Support cannot intervene in flagging decisions.
