Get started with Robinhood Chain in Phantom

  • Updated

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 network supported in Phantom. Once enabled, you can view balances, send and receive supported tokens, swap supported tokens, and bridge supported assets alongside your other supported networks.

Enable Robinhood Chain

If Robinhood Chain doesn't appear in your wallet, you can turn it on in your network settings.

  1. Update Phantom to the latest version.
  2. Go to SettingsActive Networks.
  3. Turn on Robinhood Chain.

Once enabled, your Robinhood Chain address appears alongside your other network addresses. If you already use Ethereum or another EVM network in Phantom, you'll use the same wallet address on Robinhood Chain.

Use Robinhood Chain

Here's what you can do on Robinhood Chain:

  • View supported token balances.
  • Send and receive supported tokens.
  • Swap supported tokens. Some eligible same-network swaps are gasless.
  • Bridge supported assets between Robinhood Chain and other supported networks.

Swap and bridge availability depends on liquidity, routing, region, and token support.

Add funds to Robinhood Chain

To use Robinhood Chain, you'll need tokens on Robinhood Chain. You can add funds by receiving supported tokens from another wallet or by bridging supported assets from another network.

To pay network fees, you'll need ETH on Robinhood Chain. You can receive ETH on Robinhood Chain or bridge ETH from another supported network.

When bridging from another network, make sure you have enough funds on the source network to pay the network fee for the bridge transaction.

You may also be able to use Trade to move supported assets into Robinhood Chain when a route is available.

Pay network fees

Robinhood Chain uses ETH on Robinhood Chain for network fees. ETH on Ethereum, Base, or another network can't be used to pay Robinhood Chain fees.

Some eligible same-network swaps are gasless, meaning Phantom pays the network fee for that swap. Other transactions, including sends and bridges, still require network fees.

If you're bridging assets to Robinhood Chain, you'll also need funds on the source network to start the transfer.

See Understanding gasless swaps on EVM networks to learn how gasless swaps work and how to enable them.

Asset availability

Some Robinhood Chain assets, including stock tokens and other real-world asset (RWA) tokens, aren't available in every region. Availability depends on your location and applicable requirements.

If an asset isn't available to you, it may not yet be supported or may be restricted where you live.

Current limitations

  • Robinhood Chain support currently focuses on token balances, sends, receives, swaps, and bridging supported assets.
  • Support for collectibles (NFTs), DeFi positions, and connecting to apps on Robinhood Chain may not be available yet.
  • Swap and bridge availability depends on liquidity, routing, region, and token support.
  • Gasless swaps only apply to eligible same-network swaps. Other transactions still require network fees.
  • Adding funds to Robinhood Chain directly from Phantom Cash is not supported at launch.
