How to send tokens from Phantom to an exchange

  • Updated

Phantom supports assets on Solana, Ethereum, Monad (testnet), Base, Sui, Polygon, and Bitcoin. Before sending tokens to a centralized exchange, make sure the exchange supports both the token and the network you’re using. If you’re unsure, check with the exchange’s support team.

Send tokens from Phantom to an exchange

Step 1: Get the deposit address from your exchange

Log in to your exchange account and go to the crypto deposit section. Choose the token and the network you want to deposit. Here’s an example of what this looks like on Binance and Coinbase:

Copy the deposit address, and double-check that you’ve selected the correct token on the correct network.

Important: Never type the address by hand—always copy and paste. If you use the wrong address, token, or network, your funds could be lost permanently.

Step 2: Open Phantom and start the transfer

  1. Open Phantom and select Send.
  2. Search for the token you want to send, and select the correct network. Some tokens exist on multiple networks. Look for the network icon next to the token to identify which version you’re sending.

Note: Native tokens like SOL, ETH, BTC, POL, MON, and SUI don’t show pinned network icons. Non-native tokens will.

Step 3: Check for gas fees

To send a token, you need enough of the native token for that network to pay the transaction fee:

  • To send assets on Ethereum, you need ETH.
  • On Solana, you need SOL.
  • On Polygon, you need POL.

Note: The Base network doesn’t have its own token—it uses ETH on Base to pay fees. Make sure you’re sending ETH specific to the Base network if you’re using Base.

Step 4: Enter details and confirm

  1. Paste the exchange deposit address you copied earlier.
  2. Enter the amount you want to send.
  3. Select Next, review the token, network, and amount.
  4. Select Send to confirm.

You’ll receive a confirmation once the transaction is complete.

Step 5: Track the transaction

  1. Select View transaction to open the blockchain explorer and see status details.
  2. You can also select the Activity tab in Phantom to check the status and details of your transfer.

A note about unsupported tokens

Some exchanges don’t support every token—even if they support the network it was sent on. For example, many memecoins or low-liquidity tokens may not be supported for deposit. If your token doesn’t show up, you’ll need to contact the exchange or service you sent it to.

Phantom is a non-custodial wallet and cannot recover tokens sent to unsupported services or addresses.
