Get started with BNB Chain
BNB Chain is an EVM-compatible network that uses BNB to pay network fees. Phantom supports BNB Chain, so you can hold, send, receive, buy, and swap tokens on the network.
Warning: Always confirm the recipient address and network before you send. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed, and sending to the wrong address or network may result in permanent loss.
Verify that BNB Chain is on #
In Phantom, go to Settings > Active Networks and make sure BNB Chain is on.
If BNB Chain isn’t listed, update Phantom to the latest version from the App Store, Google Play, or Chrome Web Store, then check again.
Find your BNB Chain address #
On mobile, tap the + button in the lower right, then tap Receive. Tap the network name below the QR code and choose BNB Chain.
Get BNB on BNB Chain #
BNB Chain uses BNB to pay network fees, just as Solana uses SOL. You need BNB on BNB Chain. BNB on another network can’t pay BNB Chain network fees.
You can get BNB on BNB Chain in either of these ways:
- Buy with Cash on mobile: Open BNB in Phantom, tap the chevron next to the token ticker, and choose BNB on BNB Chain. Tap Trade > Buy, set your payment method to Cash, and enter the amount. Tap Review, review the details, then tap Confirm.
- Receive from another wallet or exchange:
- On mobile, tap the + button in the lower right, then select Receive. Tap the network name below the QR code and choose BNB Chain. Copy your address into the sending app, select BNB Chain as the network, and complete the transfer.
- In the browser extension, open the Home tab and click Receive. Next to BNB Chain, click the QR code icon to display a scannable code, or click the copy icon to copy the address. Copy your address into the sending app, select BNB Chain as the network, and complete the transfer.

Send tokens on BNB Chain #
On mobile, tap the + button in the lower right, then tap Send. Choose BNB or a supported BEP-20 token. Enter or paste the recipient address, and enter the amount. Review the network and fee before confirming.

Trade on BNB Chain #
You can buy and sell supported tokens on BNB Chain. Before trading, make sure you’ve selected the token on the BNB Chain network.
Phantom supports swaps on BNB Chain and cross-network swaps when a route is available. Available tokens and routes can vary based on token support and liquidity.
Keep some BNB on BNB Chain to pay network fees. Gasless swaps may be available on mobile for eligible trades. If a swap isn’t eligible, you need enough BNB to pay the network fee.
Current limitations #
BNB Chain support in Phantom does not currently include:
- opBNB or BNB Beacon Chain.
- BNB Chain testnets as user-facing networks.
- Connections to BNB Chain apps.
- NFTs or collectibles on BNB Chain.
- Gasless sends.
- BNB Chain support for Ledger accounts.
