Phantom lets you exchange tokens on the same chain or across different chains. Phantom routes swaps through trusted decentralized exchanges to find the best available price.
Requirements
Every swap requires a small fee paid in the network's native token (SOL on Solana, ETH on Ethereum, and so on). Keep a small balance to ensure your transactions go through. See About network fees (gas).
Swap tokens
Browser extension
- Go to the Swap tab.
- In You Pay, select the token you want to swap from.
- In You Receive, select the token and network you want to swap to.
- Enter an amount in either field.
- Review the quote, including slippage and fees.
- Click Swap Now.
After the swap completes, your new tokens appear in the Tokens section. If they don't appear immediately, click the menu icon in the upper-right corner and click Refresh balances.

Mobile app
- Go to the Swap tab.
- In You Pay, choose the token you want to swap from.
- In You Receive, choose the token (and network) you want to swap to.
- Enter the amount in either field.
- Review the quote, including slippage, price impact, and fees. In most cases, the default settings are fine. If you’re swapping a volatile token (such as a meme coin), you may need to adjust slippage.
- Tap Swap Now to submit the transaction.
After the swap completes, go to Home, then tap Tokens to check for the token you swapped to. If it doesn’t appear right away, pull down to refresh.

Other ways to swap
You can also start a swap from a token’s detail page. This pre-fills one side of the swap.
- Browser extension: Open a token, then click Swap.
- Mobile app: Open a token, then tap Buy or Sell.
Swap settings
In most cases, you can leave settings set to Auto. To adjust slippage, priority fees, or tips, select the Settings icon on the swap screen before confirming.
Fees
Swaps may include the following fees:

| Phantom fee | 0.85% aggregator fee, charged on select swap pairs. |
| Network fees (gas) | Fees paid to the network in the native token (such as SOL or ETH). For cross-chain swaps, gas may apply on both the source and destination networks. |
| Bridge or liquidity provider fees | Fees charged by the DEX, bridge, or liquidity provider used for your route. These vary by route and are included in your quote. For some cross-chain routes, this may be around 0.3%, but it’s not a fixed amount. |
| Gasless swap fee | 1.5% fee on Solana in the mobile app for trades over $15 that qualify for gasless routing. |
