Sell your crypto for fiat currency through an exchange

To sell crypto you hold in Phantom for your local fiat currency (USD, EUR or others), send your tokens to an exchange, sell them for your local currency, then withdraw the money to your linked bank account or use another withdrawal method that your exchange supports.

What you need #

  • An account on an exchange that supports bank withdrawals in your region.
  • A bank account linked to the exchange.
  • Enough of the network’s native token, such as SOL on Solana or ETH on Ethereum, to cover network fees. See Understanding network fees.

Before sending, make sure the exchange supports both the token and the network you plan to use. Sending an unsupported token or using the wrong network can result in lost funds.

If you’re selling CASH #

Do not send funds to an exchange directly from your Cash account. Only some exchanges support the CASH token that your Cash account holds.

If the exchange you're trying to send CASH to doesn’t support it, your funds will be lost.

To be sure, swap CASH for SOL or another well-known token in Phantom, and then send the swapped token to an exchange.

Step 1: Get your exchange deposit address #

  1. Open your exchange account.
  2. Select the deposit or receive option for the token you want to send.
  3. Choose the same network you’ll use to send the token from Phantom.
  4. Copy the deposit address. If the exchange requires a memo or tag, copy that too.

Step 2: Send tokens from Phantom #

  1. In Phantom, select Send and choose the token you want to send.
  2. Paste the exchange’s deposit address.
  3. Enter the amount that you want to send.
  4. Check that the address, token, and network match the exchange’s deposit instructions. Phantom may show a warning if you haven’t sent any tokens to this address before.
  5. Review the details.
  6. Confirm the transaction.

Step 3: Sell your tokens and withdraw to your bank account #

  1. Wait for the tokens to arrive in your exchange account.
  2. Sell it for your local currency.
  3. Withdraw the money to your linked bank account.

Fees, processing times, and supported currencies vary by exchange. Selling cryptocurrency may also have tax implications depending on where you live.

Exchange options #

Availability, supported tokens, and bank withdrawal options vary by location. Check each provider’s requirements before sending funds.
