If you already use Phantom, you can add another wallet with its recovery phrase or private key, connect a Ledger hardware wallet, or watch a public address.

These options bring existing wallets or addresses into Phantom. To create another account from a recovery phrase already in Phantom, see Manage your accounts in Phantom.

Import a recovery phrase #

A recovery phrase lets you import a wallet and its accounts.

Mobile app #

1. Tap your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Go to Settings > Manage Accounts.
3. Tap the + button in the upper right.
4. Tap Import Recovery Phrase.
5. Enter your recovery phrase in the correct order.
6. Tap Import.

Browser extension #

1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Click Manage Accounts (the pencil icon).
3. Click + in the upper right.
4. Click Import Recovery Phrase.
5. Enter your recovery phrase in the correct order.
6. Click Import Wallet.

Import a private key #

A private key imports a single account on one network, such as Solana or Ethereum.

Mobile app #

1. Tap your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Go to Settings > Manage Accounts.
3. Tap the + button in the upper right.
4. Tap Import Private Key.
5. Choose the network.
6. Paste your private key.
7. Tap Import.

Browser extension #

1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Click Manage Accounts (the pencil icon).
3. Click + in the upper right.
4. Click Import Private Key.
5. Choose the network.
6. Paste your private key.
7. Optionally, enter a name and choose an avatar for this account.
8. Click Import.

Connect a hardware wallet #

To access accounts on a supported Ledger hardware wallet, follow the instructions for your version of Phantom:

• Use a Ledger wallet with Phantom mobile app
• Use a Ledger wallet with the Phantom browser extension

Add a watch-only address #

Add a public address to track its balances and activity. You can't send funds or sign transactions from a watch-only address.

Mobile app #

1. Tap your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Go to Settings > Manage Accounts.
3. Tap the + button in the upper right.
4. Tap Watch Address.
5. Choose the network.
6. Paste the wallet address.
7. Enter a name.
8. Tap Import.

Browser extension #

1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Click Manage Accounts (the pencil icon).
3. Click + in the upper right.
4. Click Watch Address.
5. Choose the network.
6. Paste the wallet address.
7. Enter a name for this account.
8. Click Import.

Back up each imported wallet #

Imported wallets remain separate from your primary Phantom wallet. Importing one into the mobile app doesn't automatically add it to the browser extension.

If you reset Phantom and restore only your primary wallet, you'll need to import the additional wallets again. Keep a secure backup of every recovery phrase or private key you import. Restoring your primary wallet with its recovery phrase or Google or Apple account won't restore those imported wallets.
