Stake SOL with PSOL in Phantom
Liquid staking lets you earn SOL rewards while keeping your stake available to use. When you stake SOL, you receive Phantom Staked SOL (PSOL), which earns staking, MEV, and priority fee rewards automatically.
Your PSOL balance stays the same, but each PSOL can become worth more SOL over time. You can unstake PSOL for SOL or use it in supported DeFi apps.

Convert a native SOL stake to PSOL #
If you already have SOL staked with a validator, you can convert that stake to PSOL. Phantom deactivates the native stake before converting it.
Mobile app #
- Open the Phantom mobile app.
- In your token list, open Solana.
- Tap View SOL in the upper left.
- Under Your Positions below the chart, tap Native.
- Tap a stake account.
- Tap Convert to PSOL.

- In your token list, open Solana.
- Under Native Stakes, click Other.
- Click a stake account.

Unstake PSOL #
Unstaking converts your PSOL back to SOL. A 0.1% exit fee applies.
Mobile app #
- Open the Phantom mobile app.
- In your token list, open Staked Solana.
- Tap Unstake.
- Enter the amount of PSOL you want to unstake.
- Review the details, then confirm.
Browser extension #

Phantom normally uses reserve liquidity to return SOL to your wallet immediately.
If there isn’t enough reserve liquidity, your PSOL converts to a native SOL stake instead. You must then unstake the native stake and, once it becomes Inactive, withdraw the SOL to your wallet.
Use PSOL in DeFi #
You can lend and borrow against your PSOL on Kamino Finance. This option is available only in the Phantom browser extension.
- Open the Phantom browser extension.
- In your token list, open Staked Solana.
- Click More > Deposit with Kamino.
- Connect Phantom to Kamino.
- Continue on Kamino.

How PSOL rewards work #
Your PSOL balance doesn’t increase as you earn rewards. Instead, each PSOL can represent more SOL over time.
For example, if your PSOL holdings become worth 0.003 SOL more than when you staked, Phantom shows 0.003 SOL in rewards.
Rewards typically update at the start of each Solana epoch, which lasts about 2 to 3 days.
Fees #
| Fee | Rate | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Protocol fee | 4% | Staking rewards |
| Exit fee | 0.1% | PSOL when unstaking or swapping |
Troubleshooting #
"You haven't earned SOL yet" or 0 SOL rewards #
If you recently staked, your rewards may not have updated yet. PSOL rewards typically update at the start of each Solana epoch, which lasts about 2 to 3 days.
The 0.1% exit fee also affects the amount shown as earned. Once rewards exceed that fee, your earnings appear on the Staked Solana token page.
FAQ #
What can I do with PSOL? #
Hold PSOL to keep earning rewards, unstake it for SOL, or use it in supported DeFi apps such as Kamino.
Why did I receive fewer PSOL than the SOL I staked? #
Each PSOL can represent more than 1 SOL as the pool earns rewards. As its value increases relative to SOL, the same amount of SOL gives you fewer PSOL.
Is PSOL safe to use? #
PSOL uses the Solana stake pool program, which has undergone nine audits. Phantom doesn’t take custody of your tokens.
Is PSOL non-custodial? #
Yes. Your crypto remains under your control.
