Why did my Cash identity verification fail?
If you couldn’t verify your identity for Cash, you won’t be able to use certain Cash features, such as adding Cash via Stripe, using direct bank deposits and withdrawals, or getting a Phantom debit card.
This article explains what this means and what your options are.
Why this happened #
Identity verification for Cash is handled by Link (Stripe).
In some cases, Link can’t verify your identity using the information provided. This can happen even if you’ve tried multiple times.
For privacy and security reasons, Link doesn’t tell Phantom why verification couldn’t be completed. Phantom can’t review, approve, or override the result.
Can I try again? #
If you’re still able to retry verification in the app, make sure the information you enter exactly matches your official records.
If you’ve already retried several times and continue to see one of the following messages:
- “Identity verification needs more information”
- “We couldn’t complete identity verification”
- “Something went wrong,”
Then Phantom Support cannot approve or override the result.
Can Phantom approve me manually? #
No. Phantom cannot manually complete, approve, or override a failed identity verification.
What features can I still use? #
A failed Cash identity verification does not affect the rest of your Phantom wallet, but it can limit access to some Cash features.
You can fund your Cash account using third-party providers, trade crypto, perps, and predictions (where available).
