Withdraw funds through a crypto exchange
To withdraw money from Phantom to your bank account, send your crypto to an exchange, sell it for your local currency, then withdraw the money to your linked bank account.
What you need #
- An account on an exchange that supports bank withdrawals in your region.
- A bank account linked to the exchange.
- Enough of the network’s native token, such as SOL on Solana or ETH on Ethereum, to cover network fees. See Understanding network fees.
Before sending, make sure the exchange supports both the token and the network you plan to use. Sending an unsupported token or using the wrong network can result in lost funds.
If you’re sending CASH #
Only some exchanges support CASH, the token held in your Cash account. If your exchange doesn’t support it, swap CASH for SOL or another well-known token.
For US residents (except NY), you can withdraw CASH directly to your bank account. See Withdraw money from your Cash account directly to a US bank.
Step 1: Get your exchange deposit address #
- Open your exchange account.
- Select the deposit or receive option for the token you want to send.
- Choose the same network you’ll use to send the token from Phantom.
- Copy the deposit address. If the exchange requires a memo or tag, copy that too.
Step 2: Send crypto from Phantom #
If the exchange doesn’t support your token, swap it for a supported token before sending.
- In Phantom, open the token you want to send and select Send.
- Paste the exchange’s deposit address and enter the amount. Include a memo or tag if required.
- Check that the address, token, and network match the exchange’s deposit instructions. Phantom may show a warning if you haven’t sent crypto to this address before.
- Review the details and confirm the transfer.
Step 3: Sell your crypto and withdraw to your bank account #
- Wait for the crypto to arrive in your exchange account.
- Sell it for your local currency.
- Withdraw the money to your linked bank account.
Fees, processing times, and supported currencies vary by exchange. Selling crypto may also have tax implications depending on where you live.
Exchange options #
Availability, supported tokens, and bank withdrawal options vary by location. Check each provider’s requirements before sending funds.
