This article helps you fix connection or transaction issues when using a Ledger (Nano X or Stax) with the Phantom mobile app.
Follow the steps below to reconnect your device or resolve signing errors.
Fix connection issues
If Phantom cannot connect to your Ledger, start with these basic checks:
- Close and reopen Phantom.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and your Ledger.
- Check that Phantom has Bluetooth permission in your phone’s settings.
- Keep your Ledger unlocked and on the home screen. Do not open any apps yet.
- Update your Ledger device firmware.
- Update the Solana, Ethereum, or Bitcoin app on your Ledger.
- Try connecting again.
If the connection is successful, Phantom will display your Ledger accounts and prompt you to continue.
Still not connecting
If your Ledger still does not connect, forget and re-pair the device:
- Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings and select Forget Device for your Ledger.
- In Phantom, select Add Account → Connect Hardware Wallet and follow the pairing steps.
After pairing, your Ledger should appear as a connected hardware wallet in Phantom.
Fix transaction issues
If your Ledger connects but a transaction fails or does not prompt for approval, check the following:
- Make sure your Ledger is unlocked and nearby.
- Open the correct app on your Ledger. For example, open the Solana app for SOL transactions.
- Enable blind signing: On your Ledger, open the relevant app → Settings → Enable blind signing → set to Enabled.
Important: Blind signing allows your Ledger to approve certain smart contract transactions that cannot be fully displayed on the device screen. Only enable blind signing when interacting with trusted apps and websites.
Once blind signing is enabled and the correct app is open, retry the transaction. Your Ledger should display the transaction details for approval.
