Resetting Phantom removes all wallet data from your device and returns you to the welcome screen. After the reset, you can create a new wallet or restore an existing one.
You may need to reset Phantom in the following cases:
- You want to remove all wallet data from your device (there's no traditional "Log Out" button).
- You're experiencing persistent errors after an extension or app update, or transaction failures across multiple sites.
- Apps (dApps) aren't connecting or responding correctly, and standard troubleshooting (clearing browser cache, disabling other extensions) hasn't resolved the issue.
- The extension or app is behaving unexpectedly after a recent update.
Before resetting
Resetting the app deletes all wallet data on your device, including recovery phrases.
- Make sure you've backed up your recovery phrase before resetting.
- Make sure you remember your four-digit PIN and have access to the Google or Apple account used to create the wallet.
Reset Phantom
Browser extension
- Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
- Go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
- Click Reset App, then click Continue.
Mobile app
- Tap your profile avatar in the upper left.
- Go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
- Tap Reset App, then tap Continue.
After resetting
Once the reset is complete, you'll be taken to the welcome screen. From there, take the following steps:
- Select I already have a wallet to restore your existing wallet using your recovery phrase, or your Apple/Google login and PIN.
- Select Create a new wallet if you'd like to start fresh.
