When you upgrade to a new phone, you may transfer your apps and data using a cloud service like iCloud or Google One. However, wallet apps—including Phantom—won't restore your secret phrase as part of this transfer. That means:
- The Phantom app will appear on your new phone after syncing.
- But you’ll be prompted to create a new wallet or import an existing one the first time you open it.
Migrate Phantom to a new phone
To avoid losing access to your wallet, follow these steps:
- On your old device, view your recovery phrase or private key.
- Save them securely—offline or in a password manager.
- On your new device, download the Phantom app and import your wallet.
- If some of your accounts are missing, follow the steps to recover missing accounts.
