When you move to a new phone, your apps may transfer through iCloud or Google Drive—but crypto wallets don’t transfer sensitive recovery data. That means the Phantom app may appear on your new phone after syncing. But you’ll still need to restore your wallet the first time you open it.
Before you switch phones, make sure you have your recovery details so you don’t lose access to your funds.
- On your old phone, export your wallet credentials:
- Wallet was created with a recovery phrase? Go to Settings → Security & Privacy → Show Recovery Phrase.
- Wallet was created with a Google or Apple account and four-digit PIN? Make sure you have access to your email and still remember your PIN.
- On your new phone, download Phantom from phantom.com/download.
- In Phantom, tap I already have a wallet, then restore using one of these options:
- Seedless: Continue with Email.
- Recovery phrase: Other import options → Import Recovery Phrase.
- Private key: Other import options → Import Private Key.
- Ledger: Other import options → Connect Hardware Wallet.
- If any accounts are missing, tap your profile avatar in the upper left, then tap Add Account → Create New Account → Create.
Note: For Apple/Google wallets, only the first account is restored automatically. Add any additional accounts manually.
