About Bitcoin assets in Phantom

  • Updated

If you see Bitcoin-based assets in Phantom besides BTC, they may be Ordinals, rare sats, or older BRC-20 tokens. Phantom can display some of these assets, but standard Bitcoin transfers do not automatically protect them.

Before you send BTC

Important: Phantom doesn't protect Ordinals, rare sats, or BRC-20 tokens during Bitcoin transfers. Sending BTC may spend any satoshis in your address, including satoshis tied to these assets. To manually control which UTXOs are spent, see Send Bitcoin using Sparrow wallet.

Ordinals

Ordinals are individual satoshis with data attached to them, such as images, text, or other content. They are sometimes described as Bitcoin NFTs. If your wallet contains Ordinals that Phantom can detect, they appear in the Collectibles section of your wallet.

Rare sats

Rare sats are collectible satoshis with unique traits, such as notable block positions or historical significance. If your wallet contains rare sats that Phantom can detect, they appear in the Collectibles section of your wallet.

BRC-20 tokens

BRC-20 is a token standard built on top of Ordinals. Phantom no longer supports BRC-20 tokens in the app.

If you previously held BRC-20 tokens, they have not been lost. They are still onchain and remain associated with your Bitcoin address. You can use external platforms to view or manage them.

Only connect your wallet to trusted sites. To view BRC-20 tokens associated with your Bitcoin address, you can use:

  • Magic Eden: Go to magiceden.io, select Bitcoin, and connect your Phantom wallet to view and trade your BRC-20 tokens.
  • UniSat: Go to unisat.io and connect your Phantom wallet to view and manage your BRC-20 tokens.
  • Ordinals Wallet: Go to ordinalswallet.com to view BRC-20 tokens associated with your Bitcoin address.
