About Bitcoin assets in Phantom

  • Updated

Phantom supports viewing several types of Bitcoin assets alongside your BTC balance. Here's what each one is and how Phantom handles it.

Important: Phantom doesn't protect Ordinals, rare sats, or BRC-20 tokens during Bitcoin transfers. Sending BTC may spend any satoshis in your address, including those containing these assets. To manually control which UTXOs are spent, see Send Bitcoin using Sparrow wallet.

Ordinals

Ordinals are individual satoshis with data inscribed on them, such as images, text, or other content. They're sometimes referred to as Bitcoin NFTs. If your wallet contains Ordinals, they're visible in the Collectibles section of your Phantom wallet.

Rare sats

Rare sats are collectible satoshis with distinct features, like early block heights or historical significance, sometimes linked to Ordinal inscriptions. If your wallet contains rare sats, you can view them in the Collectibles section of your Phantom wallet.

BRC-20 tokens

BRC-20 is a token standard built on top of Ordinals. Phantom no longer supports BRC-20 tokens. If you held any, they're still onchain and accessible through external platforms:

  • Magic Eden: Go to magiceden.io, select Bitcoin, and connect your Phantom wallet to view and trade your BRC-20 tokens.
  • UniSat: Go to unisat.io and connect your Phantom wallet to view and manage your BRC-20 tokens.
  • Use Ordinals Wallet for viewing BRC-20 tokens associated with your Bitcoin address.

Your tokens haven't been lost. They're still associated with your Bitcoin address and are fully accessible through these platforms.
