How to remove an account from Phantom

  • Updated

This article explains how to remove an account from Phantom and what to do if the Remove Account option isn’t available.

Note: Phantom doesn’t support deleting or deactivating accounts like traditional user profiles. However, you can remove an account from your device or uninstall the app entirely.

Phantom can’t remove accounts for you—we don’t store your credentials.

If you’re looking for the Remove Account option in Settings but don’t see it, skip to If you don’t see the option for other ways to remove access.

Before you begin

Before making any changes, back up your credentials:

  • Write down your Secret Recovery Phrase and store it in a secure, offline location—like a password manager or safe.
  • If you’ve exported private keys, store those securely as well.
  • Test your backups on another device to confirm they work before proceeding.

Warning: Phantom can’t recover accounts for you. We don’t store your recovery phrase or private keys.

Remove an account

In the browser extension

  1. Open the Phantom browser extension.
  2. Select your account icon in the top-left corner to open the sidebar.
  3. Select Manage Accounts (pencil icon).
  4. Select the account you want to remove.
  5. Select Remove Account.

In the mobile app

  1. Open the Phantom mobile app.
  2. On the Home tab, tap your account name at the top.
  3. Tap the pencil icon next to the account you want to remove.
  4. Tap Remove Account.

If you don't see the option

If Remove Account doesn’t appear, it means the account is the only one associated with its recovery phrase. You still have two options:

  • Uninstall the app or extension. This removes all accounts from the device, but not from the blockchain.
  • Remove the recovery phrase. If you’ve imported more than one recovery phrase, go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Remove Secret Recovery Phrase to remove access from your device.

Reminder: Always store your Secret Recovery Phrase in a secure, offline location. Never share your phrase with anyone—not even Phantom support. Phantom is non-custodial and can't help recover lost access.
