Withdraw money through a crypto exchange

  • Updated

To withdraw money from Phantom to a bank account, send your crypto to an exchange, sell it for your local currency, then withdraw the funds to your bank account.

Before you withdraw

  • Make sure the exchange supports both the token and the network you’re sending.
  • Exchanges generally support well-known assets such as SOL, ETH, and stablecoins like USDC or USDT. If you’re holding meme coins or other lesser-known tokens, swap them to a widely supported token before withdrawing.
  • Make sure you have enough of the network's native token (such as SOL on Solana or ETH on Ethereum) to cover network fees. For more information, see Understanding network fees.
  • Phantom may warn about new addresses. You can continue if you're sure the address is correct.

If you’re sending the CASH token

Only some exchanges support CASH, and you risk losing your funds if you send a token that is not supported.

  1. Move the CASH token from your Cash account to your Phantom wallet. See Send money from your Cash account for details.
  2. Swap CASH to SOL or a supported stablecoin.

Step 1: Get your deposit address

  1. Choose an exchange available in your region and make sure your bank account is linked.
  2. Find the Deposit or Receive option for the token you’re sending.
  3. Copy the deposit address and note the network.

Step 2: Send your crypto

Send the token to the deposit address you copied from the exchange.

For detailed instructions, see Send crypto in Phantom.

Step 3: Withdraw to your bank account

  1. Wait for the tokens to arrive.
  2. Sell them for your local currency.
  3. Withdraw the funds to your linked bank account.

Exchange fees, withdrawal times, and supported currencies vary by exchange. Selling crypto for fiat may also be taxable depending on where you live.
