Lock the Phantom app

Locking the Phantom app prevents others from accessing your wallet if you leave your device unattended. You'll need to authenticate to unlock it. 

Lock Phantom manually

Browser extension

To lock Phantom manually, follow these steps:

1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Scroll to the bottom of Settings and click Lock Wallet.

To unlock, enter your password.

Mobile app

There's no manual lock option on mobile. Phantom locks when you lock your device or quit the app.

Set Phantom to lock automatically

Browser extension

To set auto-lock, follow these steps:

1. Click your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
3. Click Auto-Lock Timer and choose a duration (from Immediately up to 1 day).

When the timer expires, Phantom prompts you to enter your password.

Mobile app

To set auto-lock, follow these steps:

1. Tap your profile avatar in the upper left.
2. Go to Settings → Security & Privacy.
3. Tap Require authentication and choose a duration (from Immediately up to 1 day).

When the timer expires, Phantom prompts you to authenticate using Face ID, fingerprint, or your device passcode.
